You may be surprised to learn that a remodeling company is home to a veterans initiative, but if you ask us, it’s the ideal partnership. Home remodeling is what we do, but empowering people to realize their dreams is who we are. We’ve been named one of the top workplaces in the country by FORTUNE, Inc., Glassdoor, Entrepreneur Magazine, and more. As Power’s citizen soldiers work hand-in-hand with our veterans, we’re helping to define and drive this initiative forward together.

“No one is coming to solve everything, no one is coming to save you, no one is coming to be a better leader for your people than you!"

Michael started his Power career in the sales division. In less than 2 years, he brought in over a million dollars in revenue, earned two promotions, and helped launch Power’s first office in Texas. During that time, Michael’s passion for the military community inspire him to create a data-backed model to drive the recruitment and development of veteran leadership throughout the company. The culmination of his efforts resulted in the launch of the Power Veterans Initiative in 2016.

Before Power, Michael had a dynamic 8-year career in the Marine Corps intelligence community, successfully completing four deployments in support of Operation(s) Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. During that career, he found a passion for creating teams to solve some of the military's toughest intelligence problems.

“There exists no greater purpose than creating platforms that mentor and unlock the potential of others. This is leadership."

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University and attended graduate studies at The Institute of World Politics.

“We’re making people’s dreams their realities and having a great time doing it. The only destination we’re committed to is further.”

Before the Power Veterans Initiative was created, Asher already had one goal in mind; to create the best workplace in the country. To accomplish this, he understood that creating a culture that valued teamwork, shared mission, and community was key.

Fortunately for him, these are the same values held by the military community and hence, the Power Veterans Initiative was born. Through this initiative, Asher’s mission of creating a career environment that motivates people to become their best selves is being realized. Veterans seek organizations that promote leadership in service of a team and greater purpose, and that once discovered, thrive in.

"Power's continued success relies on identifying and promoting leaders who commit themselves to honoring their team and mission. No one better embodies this notion than military veterans."

Asher attended and played soccer for the American University in Washington, D.C. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government.

Regional Director of Military Affairs

Mentor | Joker | Friend | Uncle | Veteran

Following his time in the Air Force, James joined Power as an entry level salesman. While he performed exceptionally well in sales, James mostly stood out for his ability to make everyone on his team incredibly happy. Before Power, James spent 6 years in the Air Force analyzing intelligence sources and providing critical information to the combatant commanders on the front lines. This high stakes environment gave James a strong sense of purpose and a substantial appreciation for being part of a proficient and capable team.

When James transitioned to civilian life in 2012, he lost his team and his sense of purpose. This led him to a period of his life filled with odd jobs and poor decisions. James’ brother-in-law referred him to Power, knowing he’d find the team and purpose he’d been in such a desperate need of. The rest is history. James’ proficiency in sales combined with his ability to build strong teams led to his promotion as the Regional Director of Military Affairs in Houston, TX.

“I want to leave a legacy behind that inspires others to be absolutely obsessed with life. Not with life itself because that is transient, but rather the art of living and how to do it beautifully.”

James earned his Bachelors of Communications from the Community College of the Air Force.

Regional Director of Military Affairs

Father | Husband | Student | Mentor | Veteran

In his first year after the military Clayton went through five different jobs, finding that each company didn’t value or even understand veterans. Then he found Power. Deciding that he’d outwork everyone around him, Clayton started as an entry level marketer and within months, became the best marketer in the company.

Before Power, Clayton had been in the Army since 2008 and served eight years as a Field Military Police Officer. It was there that he learned the incredible value that lay within the men and women to his left and right. This work ethic combined with how deeply he values every single person he comes into contact with got him promoted to the Regional Director of Military Affairs based out of Atlanta, overseeing 7 of Power’s 14 territories.

“My dad taught me something in High School; he said ‘Whatever you decide to do, make sure you work harder than everyone else who’s doing it.’”

Clayton earned his Associate’s Degree in Business Management along with a minor in social work from the Middle Georgia College.

Aaron served as a photographer in the Marine Corps for 8 years, including 2 years as the photographer for the Secretary of Defense. During his career, he traveled to more than 20 countries and developed a love for storytelling.

After a rough transition from the military, including divorce, homelessness and a victim mentality, Aaron took charge of his life and began a journey of self improvement that ultimately led him to Power. His passion for storytelling and a desire to inspire others to take charge of their own lives makes Aaron a perfect fit for our Military Affairs team.

Citizen Soldiers

Business Affairs Managers | Directors | VP’s | Passionate Civilians

While most of our department is made up of veterans, it’s imperative that we recognize the incredible contributions of the Power people who have never served in the military.

Our initiative isn’t about building walls between veterans and non-veterans. Instead, our aim is to build an inclusive community and ecosystem that utilizes the experience of the military and civilian community and rises together.
